Frequently asked questions
Have questions? That’s great! Here are some of the most commonly asked questions and answers I hear on a regular basis. Don’t see your question here? Feel free to contact me and schedule an appointment. I’d love to chat with you!
What is mindful eating?
Mindful eating is: Eating with a purpose; being fully present while eating.
How do I do this? By being aware and observant of how your body feels before, during and after eating. Notice and savor the texture, aroma, and flavor of the food you are eating. Eat slowly, chew thoroughly and breathe. When you eat, you are just eating, while being aware of the entire experience.
What can I do to be sure I’m getting the most benefit from your program?
Be open to new ideas and trying new things. Mindfulness and consistency are key. Understand that this takes time, and we can work at your pace.
Who is unlikely to benefit from a Pickled Beet Plan?
If you are looking for the latest fad diet, a quick fix, or a crash diet, then this plan is not for you. You should understand that this is a way of life, intended to benefit your health long-term.
What about exercise?
Exercise is an important part of a healthy, mind, body, and soul. The type of exercise isn’t as important as just getting up and moving your body. This does not mean you have to run an ultra-marathon, in fact, I’d rather you choose something you love to do. This exercise can be anything . . . yard work, walking the dog, swimming, kettlebells, you name it, as long as you’re moving.
What does the word "constitution" mean?
Constitution is defined as an individual’s bodily strengths and weaknesses which include its functions, metabolic processes, reaction to stimuli and ability to ward off pathogens.
What does the term "whole foods" mean?
The term “whole foods” means to eat food as close to its natural state as possible, free from chemicals, pesticides, and additives.
What is "holistic nutrition"?
Holistic Nutrition is the concept of achieving optimum health using whole foods taking into account the individual as a whole, which includes physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Each individual is unique, thus their nutrition plan must be uniquely crafted for them. One diet does not fit all.
